Farm

De Blankemate b.v. established by Rob and Erica ter Hofte, arise from the IJssel delta surrounding Nijbroek, (Holland), where since 1990 was started a organic dairy/beef farm. In 1999 the organic dairy farm in Nijbroek has been exchanged for a bigger dairy farm in South Africa and a organic country estate “het Meuleman” in Beuningen (Holland).
From the first of January 2005 there was a change, Rob and Erica decided to spent more time at the South African farm “Klippedrift 14/Soetfontein”.
The organic meat business; distributing and financials will be organised by Dick and Berdy Sloetjes Winterswijk (Holland). They will also distribute the organic wine for Rob and Erica.





In 1997 Erica and Rob ter Hofte have started a dairy in the Eastern Cape province. They choose for this area because of its extremely favourable climate for dairy cows. The milking cows can graze summer and winter day and night outside. A cowshed is not necessary. This means that this area can compete with the cheap countries in the world concerning costprice of the milk.
